Life Legacy
Fairfield, Maine-Carrie N. Emery, 86, of Fairfield, Maine, went into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on June 15, 2012, at Lakewood Continuing Care in Waterville, Maine.
She was born in Fairfield, Maine on April 9, 1926, the daughter of the late Earle and Carrie (Fletcher) Nye. She was a graduate of Lawrence High School in Fairfield, Maine, class of 1943.
She was married to Enoch W. Emery for 47 years before he passed away on January 16, 2000.
She was and is the oldest current member of the Church of the Nazarene in Fairfield, Maine. Over the years, she held various positions in the church that included Sunday School Teacher, Church Board member, served as Missionary and Sunday School Secretary, and taught Vacation Bible School. She also sang in the choir.
She was employed as a cashier at Cottles in Waterville, Maine, and later was employed by Statewide Caterers in Benton, Maine.
She loved to read, and always had big gardens. She also loved to chat on the phone with family and friends.
She was predeceased by her brother, James Nye; and four sisters, Ida Nason, Eva Cloutier, Grace Trask, and Helen Nye.
She is survived by two sons, Paul Emery, and David E. Emery and his wife Phyllis all of Fairfield, Maine; a daughter Rebecca Breard and her husband David of Biddeford, Maine; two sisters-in-law Jacki Nye, and Edith Russell; ten grandchildren Donald Emery, Carrie Parlin, Jonathan Breard and his wife Sarah, Anna Breard, Tyler, Amber, Miles, Kali, Colby, and Tucker Emery; and three great grandchildren Egide and Elise Dostie, and Shelby Parlin; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, June 17, from 4-8 p.m. at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main Street, Fairfield, Maine. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 18, at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Nazarene, 81 Main Street, Fairfield, Maine, with the Rev. Eric Larsen officiating. Burial will follow at Friends Cemetery in Fairfield Center, Maine.
