Waterville: katherine M. Garrison, 94 passed away on September 8, 2013 at the Maine General Medical Center here. She was born in Ruth, Nevada on January 16, 1919 the daughter of Nicholos and Lottie (Tucker) Paullos. Most of her years growing up were in Compton, California. She moved to Avenal, California after her high school graduation and there met her husband to be Roy A. Garrison. They were married on September 11, 1938 in Compton, California. During their 50 years of Marriage, they lived in Avenal, California. They loved camping at Bass Lake, California and had so many fond memories of the lake with their two daughters, Sharon and Karen. After their daughters were grown, they loved camping in their trailer with family and friends at Morro Bay California and taking long walks on the beach. Katherine remained in California after her husband passed away on June 24, 1989 for twelve more years. During this time she loved taking trips with her friends through a program offered by Coalinga College. The Avenal Community Center was also one of her favorite pastimes to have meals and other activities with her friends. In 2001, she moved to Waterville, Maine to live at Seton Village and to be closer to her family. In 2012 she moved to Sunset Home in Waterville. She was predeceased by her husgand in 1989, her daughter Karen Morris in 1992, by her great grandson, Christopher Morris, and her brothers and sisters. Katherine is survived by her daughter, Sharon Allen and husband Don, their five children; Todd Allen and wife Megan, and their 3 children Luke, Isaac, and Mikayla of Ramona, Ca., Kelly Cooney and husband Rev. Andrew Cooney, and their 3 children Ceanna, Abigail, and Micah from Berkeley Springs W.Va., Jody Haber and husband Todd and their 2 children Kaylan and Jack from Belgrade, Me., Corrie Gillespie and husband Chandler and their 3 children, Laura, Kara, and Aiden from Stuarts Draft, Va., and daughter Kathryn Allen of Oakland, Me. Katherine s daughter, Karen Morris and husband Don, their 2 children Debbie Dolan and husband John of Rocklin, Ca., and their 2 children Becky and Rachel. Douglas Morris and his wife Raquel of Acworth, Ga., their 2 children Chrysta and Colin. In all, Katherine had 7 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was also very close and had a special bond to many of her nieces and nephews and their families. Her visits with her family were so important to her. Many even traveled all the way from California and from other states to Maine just to visit with her. After her daughter, Karen died her son in law Don Morris continued to be her son in law and looked after her whenever possible. That special relationship continued even after he remarried. His wife Shirley and her family just adopted Katherine as part of their family. The family would like to thank all those at Sunset Home who loved her and took such good care of her. She dearly loved living there. The family would also like to thank those on the 2 Central Wing at Thayer Hospital for all the loving care and comfort they gave Katherine. Everybody was so special to her. A graveside service will be held at Noon (12:00) on Friday September 27 at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Coalinga, California.
