Winslow, Maine – Patricia B. Hayward, 68, died on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at her home surrounded by family and her devoted cat and dog. She was diagnosed with cancer in July. Pat was born in Benton, Maine on March 15, 1943, the daughter of Henry and Frances Sitnik. She graduated from Lawrence High School and went on to receive her Associate’s Degree. She spent her life in the health care industry, both as a home health care aide and hospital technician, lovingly attending to those in need. Her warmth and compassion eased the suffering of countless people. Outside of work, she and Clint would hunt for antiques at auction, enjoy a good Downeast meal, and relax at camp in Perry. She loved spending time with family and sharing stories with friends. She spent time in the garden, loved a good book, was an avid sea glass collector and could not wait to hold her loving pets. She was predeceased by her father Henry Sitnik, her brother John Sitnik, her sister Joyce Wing, and her dogs Brandi and Suki. She is survived by her mother Frances Sitnik, husband Clinton Hayward, son Paul Blair, daughter Kathy Blair-Enman, son-in-law Jeff Enman, step-son Tommy Hayward, step-daughter-in-law Nokomis Hayward, step-daughter Diane Footer, step-son Clinton D. Hayward, step-daughter-in-law Shelly Hayward, sister Pauline Pleau, brother-in-law William Pleau, sister Josie Cunningham, step-granddaughters Megan and Samantha, and the Nelson family who have always been near and dear. Visiting hours will be from 9AM – 11AM with a funeral service to begin at 11AM on Tuesday, October 4 at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home located at 107 Main Street in Fairfield, Maine. Burial will follow at the Maine Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Augusta, Maine. The family would like to thank the outpouring of support they have received over the past weeks.
