Hartland- Robert Lawrence Libby, 75, passed away on August 27, 2017, with his family by his side.\r\n\r\nBob was born on August 22, 1942, to Lawrence and Evangline (Hallee) Libby. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1960 and then went on to get his Bachelor’s Degree from Thomas College.\r\n\r\nBob took over his family’s convenience store in 1974 and ran it every day until recently when his health declined. In 1984, he married Diane Ellis and together they ran Libby’s Variety, splitting shifts and always having one of them there working. Five years ago, Bob and Diane added to their family when they got their dog Sandy, who became Bob’s four-legged shadow and followed him everywhere, whether it was at the convenience store or driving the tractor. \r\n\r\nBob’s hobbies were fishing, hunting, Nascar, drag racing, and especially hot rods, which he has collected many throughout the years. Not only did he collect hot rods, but you can say Bob was a collector of everything.\r\n\r\nHe was predeceased by his parents.\r\n\r\nBob is survived by his wife Diane of Hartland; his brother Dan Libby and his wife Carol of York; brother-in-law Dan Ellis and his wife Hope of Benton; and many nieces and nephews.\r\n\r\nThe family would to thank Will for his 15 years of dedication and commitment to Diane, Bob, and Libby’s Variety.\r\n\r\nVisiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2017, from 5-7 p.m. at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main St., Fairfield.
