FAIRFIELD CENTER, Maine—Roderick Jay Potter, 74, of Fairfield Center, Maine passed away at home with his family by his side on Saturday, May 21, 2016, at 5:45 p.m.\r\n\r\nRod was born in Wellesley, Mass., on April 25, 1942, the son of Daniel and Geraldine (Ziegler) Potter.\r\n\r\nHe graduated from Henry T. Wing High School in Sandwich, Mass., Rod served in the Army National Guard from 1959 to 1965.\r\n\r\nHe was employed by Cape Cod Gas Co. for 36 years, retiring in 2000. He moved to Maine in 2004. While in Maine, he was a member of the Central Maine Squares, Victor Grange #49, and Waterville American Legion Post #5. Rod attended Fairfield Center United Methodist Church.\r\n\r\nHe was predeceased by his parents; and his sister, Danine Hall.\r\n\r\nRod will be sadly missed by his wife, Rebecca (Ellis) Potter; his son, Roderick Edward Potter and his wife, Lucy Potter; his daughter, Sabrina Lee (Potter) Williamson and her husband, Mark Allen Williamson; and his grandchildren, Kaven Potter, and Emi Cifra.\r\n\r\nVisiting hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 29 at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main St., Fairfield, Maine. A celebration of Rod’s life will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on June 5 at the American Legion in Sandwich, Mass.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, donations in Rod’s memory may be made to HealthReach Hospice, MaineGeneral Health, P.O.
